Happy Fall Y'all!

 Well, it is finally here!

Those beautiful cool evenings, clear sunny days,
wonderful sunsets to watch when the day is done, and all those wonderful smells!
Soon the leaves will be turning their vivid colors,
creating one of the most masterful paintings, made just for our enjoyment by our Heavenly Father.
Happy Fall!

Lover's Lane

What a fun project to work on while Mom and Dad were in Nevada!
We set out to have our Anniversary Gift finished by the time they arrived back and we accomplished our goal!
The area we decided to cultivate was the spot where Dad had carved their names on a tree back in 1998.
We added a bridge, mums, grass, rock lining, and a bench for their enjoyment and dubbed the place- Lover's Lane.  What fun!
Happy "Belated"' Anniversary!  May God continue to bless you!

The Re-Opening of Pizza House

Excitement was in the air on the 30th of August.  The Pizza House that had been closed for many years in Bridgeport, Illinois was re-opening!  This being Ryan's favorite pizza from years past, we arrived at 3:30pm, just to make sure we were the first customers when it officially opened at 4:00.  We ordered our pizza and to Ryan's delight, it tasted the same as it did so many years ago!  The Pizza House was very busy that evening and ended up making 91 pizzas in 5 hours!  What a wonderful way to welcome them back into the community!

Summer Fun!

We have enjoyed filling this Summer's pages with many fun and exciting things!  Here are a few of the things we enjoyed.

We perform a series on America, that includes dressing in period costume.  We were privileged to perform at camp and other churches.  George and Martha Washington are in the second portion of this five part series.
We recorded with CA Tapes at the North American Christian Convention.  I am broken in quite well now!

My first milkshake with Danny from Steak and Shake. (A CA Tapes tradition you could say.)
On our way to the North American, we spotted this "unusual deer stand" sitting along I-70.  :)  Actually it is an interesting advertisement for that place's buildings.  But being from the country. . . . you could only assume. . . .
My first car show to ever attend with my dear Ryan!  It poured down rain when we arrived, but we used the chamois on the General Lee and boy did he shine.  It turned out to be a beautiful day.

Huge mushrooms that popped up overnight in the yard!  How neat!
Another trip with CA Tapes- this time to Hillsboro Family Camp.

Worship time (that's David Melton in the foreground)

Art Bush led the singing

Mr. Ed Bousman got up and spoke right before they played a tribute to his years of ministry.

Our "Home Sweet Home" while in HIllsboro!

Pre- car shows comes the grease!  Ryan was covered from head-to-toe!
A neat Car Show picture (notice the General Lee's reflection in the shiny hub cap of the adjacent car!)

What a fun summer!

Music Camp 2010

What a grand time we had at Music Camp again this year.  Ryan and I relived many past memories including- our wedding and when he first asked to court me!
We laughed and smiled and shared in joy together.  Of course at the end of the week we made our annual stop for Rainbow Sprites!

A Quiver Full

   "  Lo, children are a heritage of Jehovah;
And the fruit of the womb is his reward.

As arrows in the hand of a mighty man,
So are the children of youth.

Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them:

They shall not be put to shame,
When they speak with their enemies in the gate."
Psalm 127:3-5

We are happy to announce for those who haven't heard- we are beginning our quiver full of arrows!  Our estimated due date is January 25, 2011.  We are not finding out whether we are having a boy or girl- but waiting for the surprise of the moment.  When people ask us what we are having, Ryan's answer is generally the best we can give- "Well, we are hoping for a baby." :)

I felt it move or rather flutter, for the first time on the 25th of August.  What a wonderful feeling.  Since then I have felt it many times, some in the middle of the night.  Baby is feeling active when Mommy is trying to sleep. :)  Our God is an awesome God!

We do have names picked out though, although it took us a long time to find the perfect ones.  Proverbs 22:1 says- "a good name is more desirable than great riches."   But after much searching and perusing, we finally figured it all out.

If our baby is a boy, then his name will be: Justus William Cox.  Justus was mentioned in the Bible in three different instances and means- the quality of being just; righteousness, equitableness, or moral rightness: to uphold the justice of a cause.  And William means- provider.  So together his name would mean- the provider of justness and fairness.

If our baby is a girl, then her name will be: Moriah Kay Cox.  Moriah was the mount where Abraham took Isaac to sacrifice him, where the temple stood, and where Jesus was crucified.  Moriah means- taught by God and Kay means- rejoicing.  So her name would mean- rejoicing to be taught by God the Father.

How exciting it is to be starting a family of our own.  May He bless us with ever so many more arrows and fill our quiver for His glory!

A Trip to Egypt and Israel

What a wonderful trip we had.  We saw so many amazing things in both Egypt and Israel, including the Pyramids, the Temples in Egypt, the Tombs of the Pharaohs, the Jordan River, the Sea of Galilee, Mt. Moriah where the temple stood, Jerusalem, the Mt. of Olives, Gethsemane--- just to name a few!  All in all, we took over 1,500 pictures and almost as much video.  So much to see in the two weeks we were there!  No, we are not going to share all 1,500 pictures (thank goodness!)  These ones were just a few that we chose from amongst the many to share with everyone.  Enjoy!

Here we are at the base of one of the pyramids- the base itself covers 13 acres!
The Temple of Hatshepsut
"The Way of the Sphinx" at the Temple of Luxor
Sunset over the Nile River
Two statues where a temple stood
Obelisks
Huge pillars- we are standing at the base!
Floating in the Dead Sea
(yes we are actually floating like that)
David's Waterfall- the vacinity where David hid from Saul
The Cave where they found the Dead Sea Scrolls
The Jordan River
Swimming in the Sea of Galilee
An olive press where they made olive oil
A windy boat ride across the Sea of Galilee
A Hebrew McDonald's on the Sea of Galilee (the sign is read from right to left)
The City of Jerusalem
An Olive tree that is 2,000 years old.  It would have been there when Jesus was there.
The Place of the Skull
The Tomb they believe to be the one where Jesus lay
The old temple steps and gates- where commoners would enter- also where Jesus entered
Hezekiah's tunnel- very short and skinny and over a mile long
Other places it was very tall and still skinny.  Water ran through it as well to a spring on the other side.
The whole group
