Moving!

We are so thankful that we were able to move into our new house!
We had lots of family here to help us.
We couldn't have done it without them.
Rachel was able to stay and help me get everything in order and ready for our new baby who is due in 6 days!
We even made snow ice cream while she was here.

Yum!
What a blessing to move in before our due date arrives!
God is faithful!

Furnishings for the Crib

While we await the "big" day, a few things must be finished.  I decided to work on the bedding for the crib.  The bumpers and crib dust ruffle are done and the quilt is laid out.  Now we have to wait for the mattress to come in and the quilt to be finished and we are set!

Christmas with the McDaniel's

On our way to Providence Prairie, we had to stop and get a picture with this wonderful sign!
All of this old-fashioned goodness!
We had a whole table-full of wonderful food.  It all tasted so good and we were able to snack on it all day long!

A baby gift from my siblings.  We were seeing how well it fit! :)
Rachel received a cake pan that makes a HUGE cupcake.  We all can't wait to eat a cupcake cake she will make!
Ryan received at nice tool bag and lots of tools to put inside of it.
I was very excited when I received a rocking chair!  It was in the process of being shipped, so I am looking at a picture of it.  I believe that completes our baby furniture.
Trey and Clair were such fun.  As you can see, Trey is excited about his Dremel tool attachments.
We gave Mom and Dad a large wreath to hang on the shop next year at Christmastime.  It took a big box to wrap it in!
We had such a fun time with family.  We hope everyone had as wonderful as a Christmas as we did!

The Suprise

After opening gifts with Ryan's family, there still was one "big" present left by the door.  It had been covered by quilts, but I didn't really think it could be for me!  Bill said the note read it was for me.
I proceeded to the large gift and read the note.  It said:

"Dear Amanda,
Someone told me you were a very good girl this year.
Santa"

Ryan helped me remove the quilts and what did I find underneath?
A crib and a cradle that matched perfectly!  Ryan proceeded to tell me that he did not make the crib, but he made the cradle.  I was so impressed!  It was beautiful!  He had stayed after work most days and worked on it for just a little at a time.  He even had a change of clothes there so he wouldn't get his good ones dirty!
It rocks wonderfully and it matches the crib exactly, even though they are two different types of wood.  All of our children to come will be able to sleep in this wonderfully hand-crafted cradle made by their Daddy!
Now we are set for Baby Cox who will soon be due!

Christmas with the Cox's

We were able to share a fun day with Bill, Bonnie, and Jamie.
There were a few pictures first before we began opening presents. :)
Baby Cox was happy to be in the midst of everyone too!

Time to fix dinner.  Yum! Yum!
We had a lot of fun and good food!
Later that day we headed over to Grandpa and Grandma's to spend some time with them.

A Little Taste

We thought we would share with you a little taste of our first Christmas.  It was full of fun and we made many good memories!
We were able to head down to Providence Prairie to cut our very own live cedar tree on Christmas Eve.
The snow started falling that day and continued all day, giving us a beautiful white Christmas.

The animals in the barnyard even enjoyed the falling snow!

We had to pick out the perfect tree, but this one was just a little too big! :)
When we got home, we gathered up our decorations and began adorning the tree, while listening to some of our favorite Christmas music.
 The cedar smell was delightful.

 "Our First Christmas" Ornament!
Ryan opened one gift early on request and found out that I had made stockings and a Christmas tree skirt!
It set our little tree off and completed the beautiful look.
We were ready for Christmas morning!

We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas too!
